Jamerson Elementary Recieves the Mayors Top Apple Award for 2012
On January 18, 2012, our school was recognized by Mayor Bill Foster and St. Petersburg City Council as a recipient of the Top Apple Award for 2012 for outstanding academic achievements and accomplishments.

 Douglas L. Jamerson Jr., Elementary has been selected my Magnet Schools of America as a
MAGNET SCHOOL OF DISTINCTION.
For the 6th consecutive year, Jamerson Elementary is being recognized. The honor will be received at the 30th Magnet Schools of America Conference hosted by Houston, Texas. In order to be considered for this nationally competitive award, schools must excel in meeting rigorous standards in the following areas:
- a commitment to high academic standards
- curriculum innovation
- successful desegregation/diversity efforts
- and the consistent delivery of high quality education to students.
