Summertime Reading Fun!
Learning doesn't have to stop over the summer! Students will have books to take home and plenty of online resources. Every student can log minutes they spent reading using Scholastic's Summer Challenge to Read for the World Record. The school with the most minutes read will win a classroom Library, with more prizes to follow. Please encourage your students to read and complete activities over the summer to build on the skills they've learned throughout the year!

Spring Engineering EXPO, 10th Anniversary Celebration, and Jamerson Staff Reunion on Tuesday, May 7!
Pinellas County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Michael A. Grego states "I was very impressed with your Spring Engineering Expo on Tuesday, May 7. There was excitement in the air and everyone was engaged in cooperative learning through the variety of showcases exhibited. It was apparent that parents were actively involved in their student's learning. The Expo provided a positive memorable experience for all families."

Reading
Reading is the basic building block of all learning.
Through books children can explore new ideas.
Reading provides opportunities for children to flex their critical thinking skills, develop problem-solving techniques and increase their vocabulary and knowledge of the world. Reading opens doors to our children’s success in the future. In a word, reading is important.
The more children read the better they become at reading. The more they like what they read the more they view reading as a pleasurable and entertaining activity. It is our goal to both encourage our students to READ EVERY DAY and give them opportunities to learn.
