Douglas L. Jamerson Jr., Elementary has been selected my Magnet Schools of America as a
MAGNET SCHOOL OF DISTINCTION.
For the fifth consecutive year, Jamerson Elementary is being recognized. The honor was received at the 29th Magnet Schools of America Conference hosted by the Indianapolis Public Schools in Indiana on May 17, 2011. In order to be considered for this nationally competitive award, schools must excel in meeting rigorous standards in the following areas:
- a commitment to high academic standards
- curriculum innovation
- successful desegregation/diversity efforts
- and the consistent delivery of high quality education to students.
